The Bluesmobile

That will be a damn fine and proper Blusmo engine.
Maybe dig around and find a 10 3/4" or 10 1/2". If you had a small block, you may already have a smaller convertor, slap that sucker on and see how it works.

I still have the stock still "new" convertor from the 360. If I remember right, I think it was an 11inch convertor. Wouldn't I need to shave the weights off of it?

3.55 and 440 should make it easy to break traction... maybe not ideal for big road trips...but who cares? Zac yours will definitely be the baddest Blumo around... thanks for keeping us up to date.

Thanks my man! I thought long and hard about the gears. I was intent on going with the 3.21s. I loved jumping in it, and veing able to drive cross country. But being the car is soo damn big, figures the lower gears would do nothing but help. I wanna be able to motivate when I want to lol. Still should be able to take a long drive, just a little slower.

Can not wait to see this thing on the road!!!

What I said FOUR years ago:

I remember! Haha. Me too man! Can't wait to be back behind the wheel of her.

Impressive resto work. Thanks for the update. You obviously are emotionally attached to that car. I know the feeling well.

Waaayyy to damn attached to this fricken thing!! lmao. Thanks!!

Springs, and rear are in. Man what a huge pain in the *** the springs were at first! Luckily the 2nd one went much easier after the 1st. Had to bolt the rear of te springs in first, then use a wratchet strap to stretch the front up to the mounting point. Luckily thats over. Waiting on the new parts to get here.

Can't believe this is the same car!

Yes they shouldn't be hard to seek and destroy. I'm not a small block guy, but many moons ago helped a friend put a 10 1/2 OEM from a 340, on a 413 70 Charger, it stalled close to 3k RPM.

You will be bringing her to Garlits this year....right?

I have heard of running the small block convertors before. Ill have to look into it. That might save me some $$! lol.

Im trying like hell to get her done this year. Idk if its gonna happen, but I'm trying lol

Is the 440 a steel crank engine? If so I would just knock the weight off and stick it in there. Is the 360 one 11" at the teeth or the bump inside the ring gear.

New brakes going in. I got a little lazy, and installed the old E brake cables without cleaning them. They look a little outa place. Oh well...

Also installed the new KYBs. Wanted to go with the bilstiens, but didn't have the coin for them right now. The KYBs get a lot of praise on the blumo board, as well as several other formal owners, so I think they'll be good.

Im getting gitty like a school girl. Got the passenger wheel on. Still need to get new lug nuts to go with the new studs. Can't wait to get her back on her feet!

You know it just occurred to me, all those Bluesmobiles actually help in preservation of a model of car that no one would normally give a second though to, a 4 door Monaco. Not bad eh?

Mines deff a cast crank

If your 440 is a cast crank you will need the weight in a different location than the 360.
If you get a new weighted flexplate for a cast crank, or have a steel crank 440 you do not need any weight on the converter (neutral balance) I would just knock the weight off of the 360 you have and use it especially if it is smaller 10.5/11"

Thank you! Thats what I've been saying. Granted there is still quite a bit of jackass flippers that drive me nuts with the bluesmobiles. The guys really in it are saving these cars.

Honestly who else here would have restored this car?

Finished installing the new brakes. Got the ebrake cables all hooked up, and also ran new brake lines all throughout the rear.

All the hard work payed off somewhat today. The car got to see daylight today!! Holy **** that was cool seeing it outside the garage lol. The new shocks, and rebuilt springs are stiff as hell. Granted theres not a lot of weight on the car yet, but damn. The rear bumper is just about up to my stomach!

After being able to really step back, and look at the car Im a little more dissapointed with how the drivers quarter came out. Ill be able to do a little bodywork and make it look right though.

Havn't seen that *** in many moons lol
