Old Man with a Hat
Nice job Zac looks good.
... Still some things to work out...
Did you fix the burned out stop lamp on the outer left?
Damn you've come a long way with your projects... Makes the house look greatThanks guys! Like that shirt 66! Might get me one.
The car is back home after that wonderful time with the driveline shop. Man I hate farming work out...
I dropped it off a week and a half ago for the rear u joint. The shop called me a couple days later stating my driveshaft was too short, and the installed rear u joint was indeed crap. So they made her a new driveshaft, with new joints, and straps.
However after they "test" drove her they mentioned the rear end is wining, and will need a new ring and pinion. Also stated that the vibrations I was feeling were coming from my engine, and that the engine builder must not have balanced the motor the way it should. After explaining to em that this is an old cast crank Mopar 440 that is externally balanced. Blah blah blah...
I asked them to open the rear up for examining, and maybe shimming to quiet it down a bit. After a little over a week, of nothing, and "were gonna work on it tomorrow", I went and bailed her out today.
With the new shaft the vibrations are gone. She does have a slight vibration at higher RPMs, but nothing that points to anything being out of balance imo. Also the new poly motor mounts don't help either lol.
The rear does wine a bit at lower speeds, also with very slight press of the go pedal. But nothing that makes it seem like it'll gernade. I'm outa of $$ and time to do anything at the moment, still believe she will be going to Carlisle even with a little wine. What do you guys think?
The suregrip is working! I have tested it out a bit in the garage lmao.
