What did you do to your C-body today....

While I appreciate that, I don't think there should be such a site on a car website. I wish the one that is was gone.
It was an oversight on my part, as to those types of threads, they are labeled, if one doesn’t want to look at them don’t open the thread. There’s plenty of other great threads on here.

That's fine, but it doesn't change the fact that I don't think it's appropriate for a car site.

A bit more back in the motor. P/S, A/C, pulleys and air breather... all that’s left is everything else. LOL

Took quite a few hours but it was worth it: from completely dead to fully operational.

Drove it to work today, for four out of five days this week. Plan to drive it to work tomorrow (1/2 day) then on to camp afterwards.

Today I decided to put my 15" hubcaps on my Newport while I wait for my carburetor parts, for my newly bought reman'd 1969 2 Barrel Carter for my car - the old carburetor was a crap-shoot and bolts kept breaking off. Lesson learned about trying to mess with them, but same story with the ever elusive idle mixture screws...sometimes you just gotta start from scratch.
It's an ACDelco unit - it feels and looks good.

Anyways, removing the fender skirts was an entire debacle in of itself, the driver side came off easily, the passenger side was far more ornery - I think the rust was far more intense, nothing broke thank goodness. Before I put them back on I sanded the inner fender down with sandpaper thoroughly.

The hubcaps were a far more fun (and painful to the hands) type of operation. My initial approach was to try to bend the tabs inward, this proved very unsuccessful - until my mother suggested to instead clamp on the hooks/claws/the part that snaps on the rim, instead of what I was doing. Proved much more effective - they're locked in now. Looks good!

Tried to fix my passenger seat belt retractor. It didn’t want to wind. Turns out the spring was over wound and kinked. I tried to re-wind and straighten on a rod, but it is a little weak and probably re-kinking. I posted a wanted add. Or maybe I can find one at Mopar’s in the park in a couple of weeks.
There should be plenty around as they were used on all Chrysler,Dodge, Plymouth cars between ‘65 and’68

Painting the drivers side door jamb. I did the other side two weekends ago. It's in epoxy primer here and I'll get the paint on it today. Then I can finally install my new seals, carpet, door panels etc.

I made the decision to make and install splash aprons for my 69 300. Detroit Muscle Technologies have the material and hardware to do it. The pics below show the correct way to install them. Used a old apron as an pattern to trace. The best part was total cost 25.00.

Burnt some of the last of my two dollar a gallon gas in the tank. Next trip I’ll add some of the four dollar variety. Just a trip to the store. I try not to go anywhere on Labor Day or Memorial Day weekend.
