What did you do to your C-body today....

It's all a power game, so just play it. Move the car 3 feet every week or so. Turn it around once or twice. If you don't give them a reason, they typically won't bother you.
I think the no plate on the car is what got me. I have another car with a plate right next to it, hasn't moved since November. It's really not an issue, and is motivation to fix it. Along with my other three cars at the house. :BangHead:

Well putting the inner fender back on the driver side of the 77 NYB I noticed this little shield bolted to the stub frame rail. Didn’t understand what it was for until I went to go put it back on after powder coating. Turns out it’s a splash/rock shield for the shifting linkage that goes from the transmission to the sub frame.

Ok Fellers.. need some help!! I have put an early to mid 70s duel snorkel air cleaner on my 77 New Yorker. The air filter from the previous air cleaner (OE) is too tall by a smige, so the lid on the duel snorkel doesn’t seal, can anyone tell me what filter you’re using for this set up? Appreciate your help.

That's some serious horse sh#t. Especially if they're getting revenue from the registration

LOL

I'd pay the $20.oo or $50.oo dollars before I'd embarrass myself whining about it or dreaming up another conspiracy .

They will get nothing from me. If you want to send money, my address is...

Ordered new rims and tires. They will are for one car, but will temporarily go on another until the rims for that car are available again. Damn Plandemic crap. At least that will give me time to get the funds gathered.

I got the Bendix Booster sorted out yesterday that i had posted about back on May 6th. Alan had suggested removing the spacer between the master cylinder and the booster that's what we did and the brakes work fantastic now. It's been a long process getting the disc brake conversion finished up and working correctly. The hardest part finding the correct Bendix booster took me 3 years to find one and then i sent it to Booster Dewey for rebuild. I can not thank this forum enough for all the help i got to do this conversion.

What I did today was take the car out for a drive since I had to pick up my son from school at 11:45 and used that as an excuse to close the office early for the Memorial Day weekend. So it was an interesting first half of the day in the car. You know how those Craigslist ads say their car always gets a thumbs up everyday they drive the car and I go yeah right. Today must have been a full moon or full sun. School parking lot, while leaving, two male teachers say nice car and my son yells out the window it is a 73.

Decide to take the longer way home to get some more miles on the freeway. Also because cars will be light for a few miles and I can run the car up and did to 100 mph. No complaints and somehow the car seems to be more steady at 100 than at 65. Maybe just me. Off the freeway I decided to add some gas and the rear filler, and long car, always makes for interesting positioning so the hose can reach. Means the car is hanging way out. Clerk inside say nice car as I hand him money. Walking out to the car and another guy at a pump says nice car. While pumping someone drives by, slows down, and asks the age old question "what car is this?" The others just didn't ask that question.

Now at home and in the driveway and am getting out the car cover. A FedEx truck pulls up, but nothing for me, he just stops to lean out and what I hear is "how many xxx xxxxxx xxxx do you have?" I get closer and hear the same thing. Now at the curb and I hear the missing words "old school cars." I don't know about you but I absolutely detest that term for my cars. They are classics that I grew up with and drove when new. This driver has never driven them. I generally will not give you the time of day if you call them that. However, I did tell him five and then told him they are classics because some people like me take old school as an insult. He went back into his seat and drove off 15 feet to make his drop after saying "Oh". I should probably smile but upon hearing it it is akin to pricking my finger and I just jerk it away instantly.

As for work on this car there really is none. Once the carb and ignition were sorted out the car has been totally reliable since 2017. I could take a look at the right rear drum as it sometimes catches and doesn't release the car when you want to back up.

Getting the BoaB ready for the drive to Motor City next week.
Serviced the trans for the first time since it was rebuilt. Fluid had well over 12,000 miles on it over 6 years. It did stink and was kinda worn. Just a few shards in the pan but nothing to be concerned about. The filter was almost plugged.
Yep...it was due.

Finally got all the shiny bits for the rear bumper and taillights back from the chomer. Also was able to pick up (2) NOS license plates lights. Now just putting it all back together.

Thank you.. Pauls Chroming in Pa.. I can share the contact info if you’d like. A bit pricey though, but great work.
reason I asked chief is I just found a good source in TN for bumper rechroming.

Pricey? yes, but I am restoring a '67 Lemans (think "GTO") and the original bumpers were not gonna make it (repops are out there, but getting them to fit/quality of finish is hit or miss). They did great!

For higher dollar projects that can absorb such costs if car is ever sold (my plan when done), the bumper rechrome is the way to go IMHO.

My new bumper best friends, however, do NOT do the small parts like you had done. Not a lotta folks still in that business it seems (hexavalent chrome issues, etc).

Thanks!

One ('68 Fury 1 ex-New Mexico statie) back in the barn after the mechanicals were finished last week, and now I await interior stuff (seat material, need a dash pad, etc.)

The plan is to keep thee real bullet hole (orange square) amd then metal patch some places (e.g., green square) and "color match" the repairs with the "aged" original paint and keep the patina (some factory primer is showing through in places) of the rest of the car.

Orignal wheels are gonna get blasted/powdercoated in original white.

then, one below ('78 Salon) coming out for a couple years of year-round "exercise" not possible in the Northeast.

Understood.. give Sue a call, they’re very helpful and could give you a ballpark price over the phone.

Home. The link I attached didn’t come out right. It says “home” but open it and it’ll take you to the website.

Replaced the brake fluid on the wagon before making the trip to Mopars in the Park last weekend. Only driven the car once before just a short distance after buying it. 3" wide shoes on the front with only slight wear in the middle of the pads. Performed excellent until I needed 65-70mph braking on the trip home. Both drums on the right side shook violently and once heated up did so even at lower speeds. Wheel cylinder leaks maybe... and from the front end shaking obviously looking at new steering and suspension parts. Everything looks to be original equipment. Good show and a good turnout this year.

That's a gorgeous wagon! I saw it and had to stop as you parked it.
