1969 Imperial progress thread

Home at last! Congrats Julian!!! I'm very happy for you. Bummer about the damage but I know it could have been worse. I'd remove everything from the interior except the dash and depending on its condition, the headliner, unless you're planning on replacing it anyways. In other words, if it is smelly and tattered remove it now. Looks like you've already done this in the trunk. Mask off with plastic anything you don't want totally drenched and go to town with cleaning agents and a power washer, front to back, top to bottom. Get a look inside the gas tank and determine the condition of all fuel lines. Start on the checklist of things you need to do to get an engine of unknown condition to run.
the keys are a great find, I know you were worried about that.
congrats again, you are officially in over your head just like the rest of us!:yaayy:

Thanks Matt! Ya, I found more damages... The vinylroof is damaged from the truck and the chrometrip on the rear right sidewindow is rubbed out and damaged... I'll make some more pictures later.

According to the smell of bad gas, the gastank is a mess... Probably like the fuel lines also...

The next few days, I will clean out the whole interior. I also pull the dash too because it's really messed up...

Can anyone tell me where the strews are to remove the dashboard? I can't find the dash removal in the FSM...

Well I'm fashionably late, but CONGRATULATIONS!! Vodka. N-I-C-E. Finally you got it after all that nonsense. Superb, that's a special car.

Finally you got it after all that nonsense.

And directly more nonsense... About all the damages on the car. I talked to the insurance and now I have to make more HQ pictures of the damages... I'm curious how this continues.... :BangHead:

Vodka: Sometimes an insurance payment can be blessing. . .

BTW, congratulations on the arrival of your fine Imperial. It sure has been a struggle for you, and my hat is off to you !

That's an awesome car, that sixty nine Imp. Great example of Chrysler's interpretation of the "fuselage" idea on automobiles for mass production. I think the Imp and the 300 represent the paradigm, the Imp taking it to the extreme with an extra 3" of length as opposed to the 300 in my opinion. BRAVO.

Just 50 miles away from me now. Finally. :)

I totally agree! Chrysler at its best!

I tried to remove the seats today but I'm not sure how.

I removed the panels. Unfortunately, the left outer one was crushed...

I can see 4 screws in the inner side. Are these the right ones to remove the seat?

On the outer side are no screws to remove the panel...

How do I remove this damn seats?

Instead of removing the seats I removed everything behind them...

Whats the best treatment for the seat belts to clean them and make them nice and smooth again?

These rubber hose were lying loose in in the car... I don't know where they belong...

If it is the same as my 300, you have to remove the two brackets under the car first. One straddles the rear of the transmission, the other straddles the drive shaft. You will find at least three seat bolts under there. I just went through that ordeal on Saturday, PIA!
