1969 Imperial progress thread

I know the 1969 Sport Fury, and Fury III built with A/C had no vent windows with the exception of all the convertibles they all had the vent windows regardless.

Here are all the codes from the sheet. Let me know if you have trouble with my chicken scratch. Some kool options Julian.

L-65Ign. Switch lamp w/Timer - What is this feature?

a light that comes on so you can find the hole for the key .. timer shuts if off after you've had enough time to stab the key in

This is the dimmer switch

That's H.D. As in heavy duty stop lamp switch.Bryan is correct, the highlighted thing in your pics is a button to control the brights of your headlights. I have a pair of those on the floor of my Imp, the other changes stations on the radio. I'm going to guess that the "con" stands for conventional the other choice would have been "rac" for racing which weren't available on the C-body.

Unbelievable............
Recently a 20-sumthin was a passenger in my F-150 with crank windows. He asked me how to open the window...

Unbelievable............

I never saw something like this before... All cars I ever saw were not that big that you need a foot switch for the headlight because the switch in the dash is too far away...

Recently a 20-sumthin was a passenger in my F-150 with crank windows. He asked me how to open the window...

Kids of the 80s should know manual windows... But I had the same situation with the daughter of my boss. She didn't know how to open the window in my old VW as well...

Found this on the back of my seat seat. Can anyone tell me what this is?

That is a vendor tag. Note the date on the seat is 11/22/68, and your car build date is 12/11/68, so the seats are original to your car and have not been replaced. The top number is the Chrysler part number for the seat spring assembly. The other numbers on the tag are vendor-specific, and have no real meaning outside their origin.

Very Interesting! Thanks :)

My point exactly. I can't believe how the world is changing so fast that a dimmer switch that has been in the same location universally for about 50 years becomes such a relic that today's ADULTS don't know what it is.

It's not nearly so universal on European cars. My 1969 VW had the high beam switch on the stalk, just like modern American cars do. So it's not nearly as surprising as you might think.

A US-kid? Yeah. German? Not really. My neighbors are German, I'll ask them when I see them later for a second (by then, fourth, I'm sure) opinion.

Exactly! I don't know any german (european) car with such a dimmer switch! But I love this option! :)

Isn't that normal for an AC car??

Julians car is equipped with the (H53) auto temp system which includes ventless front windows on 2 door hardtops.

A car equipped with the (H51)standard A/C system would have vents in the door.

All 4 doors were equipped with vent windows.
