1969 Imperial progress thread

Great work on the dash lens and the carb parts .. I'd still get a kit and put it back together.

As long as those cracks don't allow a vacuum leak no worries

If you think it's still worth the rebuild, I would try it. I have not the experiance to decide that...

Damn. I thought this is be the end of the holley... A new base plate cots $105. I should have checked that before cleaning and polishing all these parts for 3 days...

Could be that a little JB weld might help. And as many of those carbs were made someone may have a donor base plate avaliable. I try to keep the orignal parts off my car. Otherwise i'd just give you mine.

With the kit already bought I'd also give it a try, shouldn't be a problem to get another base plate if necessary.

J-B weld sounds interesting. I'll try to get a replacement base plate here in germany or try J-B weld. This $25 base plate looks good, but $50 shipping is crazy.

Would be great to find one over here.

As I wrote, I'm back from Hospital and will try to do some work. I'm not allowed to use my leg, but I have a few things at home that I can do.

I can reassamble the carburetor now, after I had to order some gaskets and o-rings that were not included in the rebuild kit.

Good to have you back! Similar thing happened to me in June 2012 with my shoulder. I missed a whole summer of work on the car.

Carburetor rebuild

I finished work on the Carburetor today. I soaked, cleaned, sanded, polished, rebuild and reassambled it with new gaskets, jets, valves, diaphragms, springs etc. etc.

Looks really good! I hope it will work as good as it looks!

And now a lot of before and after pictures:

I was a little worried about you. . . Real glad to see you are back.

Looks like new buddy! Nice work!!!

:D Thanks!

According to the weight, probably 200 bucks or more ;)

I payed $25 for a small book from NY to Germany...
