1969 Imperial progress thread

There you go for those who have been asking about this!

Left one is for sending unit right one is switch for idiot light should be in with a bushing as right hole is 1/4 inch npt, switch is most likely 1/8 not. In a Imperial you get gauge and a light the rest of us get one or the other.

I like the five-fingered-condoms on the U-joint and the trans seal! Great idea.
Are you sure you've never done this stuff before??? No novice knows that trick. AMHIK. LOL
By the way, your documenting the process is extrodinaire!!
You're going to need a 10 Terabyte drive to store all the pics :D

And which is what? Both were not connected to a cable?!

One (the larger one) is connected to a gauge, the other an idiot light.
There are people here asking about adding a gauge to their car, this is one way.

Either way this shows both ports on the back of the block.

Thanks Alan, I remembered the discussion but which one is which was a good imformation for me! Made a memo to myself ;)

Can someone help identify and name some under dash relais? I made pictures of them and tagged them with the place I took them from but I have a list in which I write down every wiring harness connector with a consecutive number.

These two guys:

I'm not sure about the two relays on the column brace. Your manual should shed somelight on them in section 8....... wiring diagrams.

The last one is the relay for the headlight doors. same one in my 300.

There are many reasons, "because I can" is indeed one of them ;)

The main reason is simply because I don't know the german name of many of the parts. Another reason is, that to know the englisch name makes it easier to find things when you search for them in the FSM or online.
And of course, if I have a question and post pictures here, it's much more helpful to tag them in englisch for you!

I found a date code on the fuel pump that indicates that the car was not abandoned in 82 when it was registered the last time...

I find it remarkable how many Europeans, and especially Germans, can communicate so well in English. Better, in fact, than many of the retards that are being turned out in the American school system. Our school system is a disgrace! Just a pipeline to jail in most localities.

The worst are college graduates that say " xxxxxx needs fixed."
No it doesn't!!!
It "needs to be fixed" ARRgghhh. Finger nails running down a blackboard.

Since moving here, all I hear is "Where you be at"

Did you hear about the Texan who went to Harvard?

He was there the first day, and after a few hours, he really had to pee. No matter where he looked, he couldn't find a bathroom. Eventually, he decided to ask the next person who walked by. Shortly, a man walked past in white slacks and a knit shirt, with a sweater draped over his shoulders.

"Excuse me," the Texan said, "but do y'all know where the bathroom's at?"

The man cleared his throat. "Ahem. Here at 'arrvard, we don't end our sentences with prepositions."

"I'm sorry," the Texan replied. "Y'all know where the bathroom's at, a$$hole?"
