Today was a sad day -_- And I decided not to like my engine anymore......

But to put the engine onto the stand was cuccessfull at 3rd try! I had to use a smaller bolt on the lower right because the 7/16 was to big with the effect that the "connection bar" wont fit... what a pain in the ***..!

Alright when are you putting it back together?

See everybody there is your tethering cable in action on a untouched car.

This isn't all that bad, mine looked about the same and it cleaned up just fine.

I'm searching for a machine shop right now. There are not as much as in the us over here. I hope the rust pits are not too deep to bore the cylinders. The heads are realy messed up. To rebuild them will cost alot...

I'll let you know about german prices when I get quotes!

I forgot, here is the whole gallery of pictures:

You mean the third pic up from the bottom, that shows the left-hand side? It's hanging down about halfway along the block? What's a tethering cable? Designed to keep the engine from torquing over under load?

That looks to have never been apart before so the hope would be that it's still a standard bore block and should be good for a .030 overbore. I've seen worse clean up perfectly at .030 and the heads look fine too. When you have the heads done go with bigger exhaust valves, shouldn't cost you any more than stock.

That's my hope too! Are there typically any marks when the block is bores already? I'm happy to hear that you all are that optimistic about my engine!

I will look for bigger exhaust valves! What's the benefit doing this?

1.74 would be the next size up from his 1.60's

I love to free up horsies ;) I will also bay another camshaft to get this sound:

Any ideas what cam to use for that?

Those are 906 heads. They already have 1.74 exh valves.
Never mind, my head (and not my cylinder head)was in 1967. Bryan is correct. Next up would be 1.88 I think but those 1.74s are sufficient for anything you want to do with your car Julian.

Can someone help identify and name some under dash relais? I made pictures of them and tagged them with the place I took them from but I have a list in which I write down every wiring harness connector with a consecutive number.

These two guys:

And this one:

Those two little guys are part of the sequential signal system. The one you have labelled L is the turn signal override relay, and the one labelled R is the turn signal lamp outage relay. A description of what they do is in your FSM Page 8-70

I love to learn these things about my engine! I just want a nice cruiser, I'll let them as they are, but will add hardened seats!

I forgot about them :O Thanks for reminding me to put them on my List! Man, these sequential turning signals are everywhere ;)
