Well here it is boys, just finished primering the car. Just needs to be touched up and have the trim put back on. Its not a bad job but let it be known that this is the first time I've ever done this.

Looks good to me. As a hint without even a trace of criticism... try draping the rest of the car with a cheap plastic drop cloth after you have masked an outline of where the paint will stop. That way you wont find over spray in places you never imagined it could travel to... I did a lot of spray bombs as a kid and I am still amazed at the ability of sprayed paint to find an unmasked area.

Thanks cantflip, your advice Is always welcome. I'll keep that in mind anytime I have to paint my car from here on.

Not bad, not bad at all. I need to man up and tackle this with my roof. I KNOW there are surprises lurking underneath my vinyl roof. I just don't want to face them eye ball to eye ball I guess, Lol.
Keep up the good work.

Thanks guys

I actually count myself lucky that the previous owner tore the vinyl roof off before I bought it. Ripped that bandaid off before I had to. I can't blame you for not jumping at the job, especially in the dead of summer, sanding can be some sweaty work.

Ran into a bit of trouble, anyone know where I can buy front and rear window trim clips? All the local shops say they are out of production

Looked through the thread and couldn't really find anything, not a bad read though.

I ended up finding a complete set of front and rear clips for about 40 bucks with shipping. It was off of some glass restoration site called 521 or something. Here's to hoping they work out.

I pulled off my exhuast manifold yesterday to fix the heat riser rattling too. Man that thing was heavier than I expected. But at least it popped off without trouble.

After that's done and I have all the trim put on I'm gonna try running it up the hill near my house to see if that knocking starts back up. My dad said when he drove it last week for a bit he couldn't hear anything. I'm not really buying it but he thinks that the sound could have been the old clutch fan rattling around really fast on the front of the engine. Maybe sending some noise down into the engine or something? I dunno does that seem plausible? Or is it just wishful thinking?

exhaust manifolds are a lot heavier then they look, lol. My heat riser was doing the same thing last winter.

No kidding, I was even prepared when I yanked it out and I was still surprised. How did you fix the rattling?

Removed it...no more noise. It was toast anyways. I think I was lucky....Ive read stories of them getting stuck in closed position.

Yeah luckily mine was just broken so it rattled back and forth. I was wondering whether or not I should weld it open or try to just remove it

yeah...thought about that also...welding it. Removing turned out to be easier for me to get er' done lol.
One of these days Im gonna grab some hi-po manifolds.

Pretty much, I'm just wondering when is a good time and if I should have the guy pull the engine with the proper tools or if I should do it in my driveway

Rent a cherry picker or buy one at Harbor Freight. All the rest of the tools are something you should have.
