'71 Sport Fury

I haven't quite noticed an odor but the fog does leave a bit of a film. I have a pretty bad sense of smell though, so that could be why I haven't noticed anything. I'm thinking of bypassing the core to see if that fixes it.

Just replace the core....don't rig it. The core is bad

What does a new core run? It's not very high on my to do list as is though. I'm a little more focused on body and drivetrain at this stage.

My new Carb and Intake came in, Which is great because the old one seems to run crappier each day. I'm gonna take the air box off today at work and see if the choke managed to come loose again. It ran pretty rough on the way to work.

Yeah it used to, the pump is long gone though.
I'm guessing the previous owner just tossed it out after it kicked the bucket.

Are you considering going back to A/C? I have the whole box with heater core and all, not sure of goodness, but not looking for a pile either, mostly shipping. Have interest? PM me if you do

I haven't really given it much thought, it might be cool to have the parts if I do feel like reinstalling it. I'll keep you in mind if I do

So the exhuast shop said I couldn't fit 2.5 inch pipes on my fury because of it's air shocks in the back. Completely forgot it had those. So I had to go with 2.25 inch pipes.

Are Air shocks common? Are they used for anything aside from hauling?

I think they are full of poop...... Air shocks are usually used to increase the rear height because guys are to cheap to replace the springs. They are supposed to be used for hauling

The guy at the shop said they looked shot. Wonder if I should just try pulling them off and getting rid of them. I'm probably never going to use them. On the other hand though they don't seem to be super common so it might be worth it to keep them just to say I have them.

If theyre useless why would you want to say you have them? Are they factory installed?

I bet you have aftermarket Monroe shocks.
Maybe, but I think they might be stock, I'll post a picture when I get the car back but the air hookup is actually set in the body panel under the trunk lid. Looks pretty professional

last time l took off airshocks l was 16 and the car fell on me...not boughten airshocks since ...enshure you use jackstands.....

If someone can show me any literature showing that air adjustable shocks were factory, I'll be extremely shocked, if not merely enlightened.

Hah, if I do take them off I'll be sure to use stands. I already have a healthy paranoia about being crushed by my car as it is.

I'm not sure if the shocks were factory, but I think they might be anyway. The way the things are set up seems a bit better done than the average aftermarket job.

I know the car was used a lot for hauling though. It had a custom trailer hitch that weighed near 60 pounds and a yellowstone '76 sticker in the window.
