Interesting FABO rant about FCBO...

I would park next to you and Ross.

Everything is is fine as long as the guy next to me is a Moparhead and friendly:eek:ccasion14:

Even though I have to admit I do not like modern cars (anything past 1980) at carshows

Carsten

I have no problem with newer mopars at Mopar shows it carries the torch and as the case with Ross these new cars on the track carries a brighter torch. Just as long as you don't think your 10 Challenger is better because your paint is only 5 years old, call me when it gets to 45 years old.

I really don't have an issue with them myself. My 300 was new once too.

Most of the guys have been around for a while and quite often have some neat old iron back home too. There's a lot of Mustang guys that come out with their new cars that I have known since the 70's. They enjoy their cars and good for them.

There are a few guys that have them that will go away when some other shiny thing (and not necessarily a car) catches their eye. They are easy to figure out which ones they are.

Most of those guys DO NOT have old iron back home. Sure, some do but even those guys drive the new car because they want the comfort ( heat, air, heated seats, GPS, ipod)

Yeah... He was also quite the trouble maker with his rev n ator slinging threads....
So, AFTER that turd started slinging mud at me which Scott refused to do anything about which led me to say, Goodbye azzholes, I'm outta here permanently, he gets banned.
Nice going, Scott. Real smart.

Scott never did anything about it. Joey was the one that banned him over here when he was selling his car talking about round 2, and round 3.... He was still a member on the drydock he started trying to sell it over there, and came over here during the sale.

Ok. Thanks for the clarification.
I still want to meet him in a bar someday, though.
Punk....

just caught up with the ignition box thread from early 2013.

i have no interest in critiquing it or asking any of you guys who participated in it to relive it but i'm happy the great, overwhelming majority of threads aren't as "rough and tumble" as that one was...even where there is wide disagreement among participants.

i also learned that "moderating" these Forums is harder/more nuanced than i imagined. i have new respect for you folks/site owners of these open Forums as you balance "free speech" and "appropriate" digital behavior on your sites.

This board is the best moderated board by far. Of course the conduct of the members and the self policing has a lot to do with it... I am happy that the mods most times steer clear

i liked your posts in the ignition thing btw...seemed appropriate in the circumstances as that thread was careening toward the abyss before the site guy had to flush the whole thing it seemed.

with ya 100% on the second part...to some extent a moderator is like a good "referee". let the ideas "compete" but there are still "rules" that must be followed.

on the first part..best moderated board..i am inclined to say "yes" but my field of view is limited only to this one which is pretty good i think. each board may have a "personality" that members of a few different boards can more easily discern than me as just a member of this one.

yup..."self-policing"..a truer phrase cannot be spoken brother. agree, disagree, be happy, be mad...just DONT make it personal in a negative way. not so much here, but in general its still a little too easy to lob "digital" grenades over the transom with anonymity/distance to protect a person.

and the written word has always been susceptible to misunderstanding of "tone and tenor". and sometimes not..the words mean exactly what we think they mean and we KNOW when we were complimented, patronized, or royally dissed by someone else.

i find myself spending much more time "measuring twice, cutting once" than I thought before I post here or anywhere as my personal self-policing mechanism. I just wanna talk about my love of C-bodys and vehicles in general with other people who love them too ... teach and/or learn, but not libel or be libeled, or personally offend or slam other people on purpose.;)

Don't know if it's a good idea or a bad idea to link to The Dock thread but we are adults here. Some are curious, some don't care, some feel it's a dead horse.

it may be a dead horse and people will skip this part of this thread..for me it was instructive.

for what its worth, i understood (to the limited extent of my technical ability on that topic) what you were saying and agreed with your query and skepticism about that product. dunno if i would have done what you did, but i have had occasion to "leave a meeting early" before a crime was committed . .. by me or against me :icon_lol:

one participant went off the reservation with the personal stuff...totally uncalled for and i have difficulty justifying what the "other guy" said other than wanting to "attack" a person versus an idea. there was still passionate, semi-constructive but polarized debate later on but thread was in flames by then.

btw, a similar debate was had, incidentally, inside the car company I worked for. you had the position of my chief engineer for powertrain controls. my marketing guy had another position. my finance guy said something else. confidentiality prohibits me from further comment..but i will say you had a good point.:icon_cheese:

To the drivers of the toy cars of today, A bodies are "old Boats". What goes around will come around. All old Mopars are welcome at my Place.

I never realized there was such dissonance in the Mopar community I think we can all agree we much rather drive a
Chrysler then a Chevy
I suspect that it depends on the audience. If the same guys that are raggin no C's were in a room with chevy and/or ford guys, they would defend all Mopars.
