The sub frame project has begun..

Everything is better on/in a C body..... never understood the infatuation of the stereotypical muscle car over the "big cars".
You have to understand that 49% of the world is the result of their impressionable youth and 49% of the world are sheep. We are in the remaining 2%....
The guys buying these GTX's through "classic car" dealers or at auction were either dickheads in high school or kept driving by the Dairy Queen when there's a cruise night in their BMW and wanted to be cool like them.
Then after buying their first 60's muscle car they get "Made in America" religion.

Nothing new or fun to report other than purchasing a pair of inner fenders to replace the swiss cheese inners' I have now.
Busy painting the other bits with Rust Bullet which is time consuming (and a bit boring)

Still waiting for the frame side connectors to arrive...

I will continue to paint over the weekend.

Putting in an order for mechanics on the front end and electrical repairs on the harnesses

I have also been busy cleaning up the door jams/posts..
Here's a bunch of before & after shots with the base Rust Bullet paint applied

I repaired the driver's door detent so it now stays open when i want it to and I adjusted the passenger door so it closes nicely when I want it to!

I love seeing the progress. My shop is a complete disaster right now between grinding rust and grime and making it airborne and sand blasting everthing is coated. I will need a day to clean my shop before I can start laying down any paint.

I've done a 2 stage urethane and clear with a hardener with good results, on the black components of the engine. The chassis I still just use a single stage with self etching primer.

Hey Mr. Fix It,are you reusing your old subframe bushings or did you find some new ones? I'm trying to locate new ones myself or see if something will cross-reference from another mopar/car/truck.Do you happen to have any of the factory part numbers for those subframe bushings?
