I thought the same so I’m gonna poke at them and see if that move, if so I’ll dig them out.. I got both grommet and sending unit from eBay.. the seller is a Mopar guy and has lots of Stuff. I’ll put the tank back in today and report back once done.Pretty sure the inside shot of your tank shows the remains of the sock/filter. Those two squares are it, it must've split at the seam and unraveled. It's held at both ends by a plastic piece, one of which appears broken off the old sending unit and is also still in the tank. Mine was the same.
Good looking new sending unit and grommet, where did you get those?
I know that you baby Ginger, but have you considered spaying Fluid Film or some type of oil based treatment on the underside where the tank will be?I thought the same so I’m gonna poke at them and see if that move, if so I’ll dig them out.. Thx John. I suppose I could. The pictures don’t really show the true condition of the metal, but it’s in really nice shape. But I may tape it off and put some kind of preservative on there just to be safe.I know that you baby Ginger, but have you considered spaying Fluid Film or some type of oil based treatment on the underside where the tank will be?
The underside of my trunnk looked real nice as well, but I put some on it. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure...Thx John. I suppose I could. I always thought there were baffles in the fuel tank to keep it from shlawshing (is that a word) around.Pretty sure the inside shot of your tank shows the remains of the sock/filter. Found my electrical gremlin! Turns out I have the green seatbelt warning box, p/n 3501500, so no actual interlock only warning light. BUT there was a single burnt out resistor preventing current to the starter relais, upper left in the picture. Finally finished up work on the 727. Had two small leaks that needed some attention, one was the dipstick seal and the other was the NSS, but both are dry now. Managed to tighten up my shift linkage with a couple washers and some grommets. Haven't been able to test the new valve body with PTK yet though. Something decided this was the time to break resulting in a no crank issue. Traced it back to something with the seatbelt interlock since both relais and nss are good, but I ran out of time. Will work it out coming weekend. Gotta love electrical.
