What is the stock/original tire size for 1966 Fury H/T

Standard, and optional, tires for a 66 Fury can be found in the data book posted in the Hamtramck Historical library. The 1970 Hamtramck Registry - 1966 Plymouth Dealership Data Book - Fury

    1971 Chrysler New Yorker:

Simply changing the exhaust system doesn't account for the difference. The E86 U code dual exhaust engine assembly was different than the E85 T code single exhaust assembly. Here's a '71 CH43 with the E86 U code engine. (This thread is one example as to WHY it is so important to get pictures of...

Wrecking Yard With 1,000 apps Cars About To Be Crushed - LOTS of Fuselage Cars!

You asked. We answered. It's oK if you don't personally understand or care how collecting info works. That's not a requirement. What matters is that data is saved and incorporated with other data in context that makes sense to people that do care. It's like a jig saw puzzle. One piece may not...

Wrecking Yard With 1,000 apps Cars About To Be Crushed - LOTS of Fuselage Cars!

Several people collect VIN and option data for various reasons. 1) it puts package car data (70 Hursts) with a single SPD production into context by comparing VINs to regular production. The data shows when and about how many cars were in a batch. 2) it helps answer the questions of “how...

    Rest in peace 1973 Imperial

Thank you for sharing. Every tag and piece of info helps us understand how things were actually done and what really happened. (Not your 'birthday', not your 'born on' day, not your 'made' day. It's a 'scheduled' day. It's administrative in function and unrelated to production.)

Wrecking Yard With 1,000 apps Cars About To Be Crushed - LOTS of Fuselage Cars!

Is anyone saving or at least taking pictures of fender tags or VINs of the cars that cannot be saved and will be crushed?

How to check for numbers matching transmission?

The VIN on a 69 will be on a pad on the passenger's side of the transmission, not on the bell housing. Look at the examples posted in #3 by Mr Moparchp as a guide. Yes, it's possible that the transmission is a replacement and the VIN won't be there but I have a feeling you will find it.

How to check for numbers matching transmission?

As cars were built well before and after the SPD, use of the Scheduled date is, at best, an extremely rough guess as to correlation with other date coded parts. All we know for sure at this point is the car was likely not assembled before Nov 1, 1968. The tranny may have been set aside in...

"Jefferson and Lynch Road plant had different tag coding protocols and formats compared to other plants."

My New (to Me) 73 Imperial LeBaron

Yes as Jefferson did not code A package codes like other plants did. You won't find many A series sales codes on a Jefferson plant tag (exceptions exist) Jefferson and Lynch Road plant had different tag coding protocols and formats compared to other plants.

My New (to Me) 73 Imperial LeBaron

Thank you. Yes, the car does not code for the Trailer Towing package so the hitch et al were probably added after purchase. However, it appears the buyer anticipated adding the hitch by buying the suspension.

My New (to Me) 73 Imperial LeBaron

Not necessarily. Most of the time, what was included varied by make and model. Both Valiants and Imperials had A01 packages but what was included was different. Look here: https://www.hamtramck-historical.com/images/dealerships/DealershipDataBook/1973/73-Imperial_0006.jpg Did the car come...

My New (to Me) 73 Imperial LeBaron

Not all options are coded on a fender tag. The general rule of thumb is things that get coded on a tag usually mean you had to punch a hole (tachs, antennas, moldings), weld or attach a bracket (consoles, auto pilot), cowl or dash modification (a/c, rally dash) radiator support opening width...

    The Hurst Registry

You’ve really brought this database and topic a long way. Good job and thanks. Once you organize the info, things do start to fall in place. Every piece of information, fender tag and door sticker helps.
