With a leaky radiator and needing brakes? No thanks...Runs good and new clutch just installed... fly out and drive her home. Just an adventurous thought... I would probably have her shipped too.

That's the first thing I did you silly boy....There is a transport section on the Moparts board, lots of reputable guys there. Check it out.
I agree. get him to recore the rad, slam the brakes to it and maybe get him to meet you half way, say in maybe Nashville! Just by lookin at the map that would be an excellent roadtrip!!I dunno, I'll be the contrarian here, and as the crazy fuselage nut I am, I'd try it.....that is flying out there and driving her home. I would put in a new radiator and go thru brakes on the spot.....once finished, set course, weigh anchor and cast off....think about the glorious drive ahead of you...
...I said I was a nut and I meant it.:headbang:
True. I don't have the nuts. All I have left at this point in my life is common sense...polara71 said:Stan dont have the nuts............

amen to that..you already have a parts list made up in your mind, along with the appr prices of everything.Another advantage...You'll know everything that's wrong with the new car by time you get back to Florida.
Well, I feel a little better than....maybe I'm not as big of a hard core nut case as I thought. I just could not pass up an opportunity to cruise a nice fuselage car, that I had just acquired -- a few hundred miles back home. When I bought my Newport I only had to drive it back about one hundred miles or so; but it was a cool fall Sunday morning, the sun was shining and the entire NJ turnpike was clear headed south.....It was a-w-e-s-o-m-e. Glad I did it.
I drove my NY'er home from York, PA. Not far, about 1.5 hours. The car hasn't been driven in some time. It started raining, I only had 1 wiper working (had both wipers working later until the cam broke). No blower motor. The right front hose collasped and the the caliper was dragging about the last 5 miles and getting very hot, smoking, and actually started on fire when I parked it. I had a friend following with a tool box. It was a challenge getting home.

LOL!!
I would drive it back once the brakes and rad are fixed.
Why not?
with few options aboard, less to go wrong.
Just pack a getto blaster for tunes, cell phone, auto club card and credit card.
hey...I bought and drove my car on its maiden voyage.
Checked it all over, replaced a u joint and hit the road with noo problems.
Certainly a good trip and enjoyed the journey home.
