Title Rant & Rave

Yea! After getting affidavit for this affidavit for that. Forms..forms...forms. My car is now in the TXDMV database. I am officially on the title of the car and I'm celebrating!!!! :cheers2::cheers2::cheers2::cheers2:

Three words International Title Service

Several words - Nearly half the states do NOT recognize paperwork from these so-called "title services" (International. Broadway, etc) because of the shady papers coming from them over the past several years. They were one reason Boyd Coddington got his dick in a wringer over cars he built and had weird or no papers on.

I live in NY State and talk about nightmares getting an old car or truck registered!! DMV is tough even when you have your paperwork in order! The last time I went to register a 1989 Dodge Ram truck it took me 5 visits to finally get it registered and a title. I feel the pain for anybody trying to get a car or truck registered here and the hassles you get even when you follow their rules with paperwork.Even when I went to register my Newport and paid a pre-visit to them to make sure I had all my papers in order when I went to register it they changed their story and made me do additional forms!!! It sucks

Man after my own heart!!!! When I finally get to drive the car home from the shop, you better believe that's what will be at home waiting for me. We have a collection of empty boxes and bottles of this stuff. Now, if we could only get to Ireland to use those coupons that you find in the box. LOL I'm so thirsty now...thanks.

Congrats on the title Marian, that must be a huge relief. I bought my '68 RR without a title and didn't try to get one right away while at the same time sinking a bunch of time and money Into it. Luckily for me that I prioritized it eventually and went to a remote branch office up north where everybody knew the friend of mine that took me with him. It was like Cheers when Norm walks in to the bar except this was the Sec. Of State and everyone behind the counter(all 3 of them) let out a "Lee" when we walked in! I still laugh about it and 45 minutes and a similar amount of money later I walked out with a title. I think right after that they changed some rules and made it MUCH harder to acquire a title for a car that had lost its original.
