What did you do to your C-body today....

Didn't do it today, but recently upgraded the breathing capabilities on the 69 Imperial.

Got the new convertible boot the other day. Gotta put the snaps on it, but I'm going to work on it when the weather gets warm again and the material can be stretched easier.

It's that time of year again. The car got covered and put up in the air so the '65 Barracuda can get driven under it. I'm going to keep the Barracuda drivable for the next week or so. Might be able to sneak out a time or two on nice days. The garage side for the Barracuda will be clear for the snow blower and that stuff...

Where did you get the boot made? It's beautiful!
Also, how do you treat the gasoline before you put your car up for the winter?

Legendary Interiors . It replaced the Legendary boot dated 1995 and I'm told the original cover was the pattern for them back then.

I don't bother treating the gas. I use ethanol free gas and never have had an issue.

Ran out of EB7 PPG, so I picked up a quart of BASF from a local supplier. $60 was a bit of a sticker shock compared to the $25 PPG Shop-line, but I was told it was better paint. Beautiful coverage, great gloss and it laid down smooth with just 3 coats. Only problem, it’s the wrong freaking color!

PPG on the fender, BASF on the card:

Took wiper motor out (dead) put 12v+to brown wire on end lead to firewall & grd. To gear case & motor ran . Can I use it like this till I find out reason for not working or will that burn it?

Recent stories about blocked cooling passages and temp issues made me a bit weary about the condition of my cooling system so decided to investigate mine today. Drained the radiator and coolant looked okay. Then drained passenger side of the block and pulled the center and rear core plugs. Block coolant was nasty, muddy looking. Not that much debris in the coolant jacket though but still want to flush it. How should I do that, hose in the core plug opening? Engine is in the car.

Dayum! What are you gonna do?

Went back to the paint shop for a correction. They are trying to tell me it's the same, that you'll get different shades with different manufactures. I raised the BS flag, those are two different colors. Looking at the paint chips, they gave me B7 from 1971, Evening Blue, when I asked for B7 from 1970, Jubilee Blue. Wasted my last 68 degree day too, now I wait until spring for the respray.

If they watched Graveyard Carz, they would have seen the episode that discussed that very same difference in color.

That's a bummer you have to wait for spring.

Yeah, Dave's blue '71 Polara was B7, but was noticeably a different shade of blue. I figured a pain shop would know the difference between the years. I needed to take a break from this project anyway, it's really wearing me down.

Thanks. I looked into having them make the seats and the boot. They're 34 weeks behind on production...
