This thread has gone a long way! If I may give my 2 cents, I am all the way original only, on the cars that can be reasonably saved. The opinions here vary, based I believe on the age of the member, and how much they Identify with the car when it was new. I rode in them when new, and drove them. So, I fit the older mold. I don't want them better or worse than original. But, I can remember a brand new 69' Sport Fury my Girl friends dad loaned us to go see the Association in 1969. in 1969 My Brother owned a 69' Roadrunner as well. So, our memories play a big part in our choices. There is no right or wrong way to enjoy an old C body. The good thing is, no matter if they are upgraded or not, at least that is one more c Body on the road. A good thing!

One Interesting thing I read here regarding the Single master Cylinder in the 66' . Mine is a late 66', and has the dual master cylinder, and original 24,000 miles. Never touched, documented car. Chrysler did a lot of different things back then.

Of the 100s of Amazing bands in 1969 you went for the Association? Lol.

The dual cylinder was introduced late in the year. TSB 66-87

I think my brain is stuck on the early 80's through early 90's car modding, bigger rear tires, air shocks, loud exhaust etc. The imports were just starting to get played with. I never understood why anyone would want a car that was 2" off the ground and rose like crap. I like having a sidewall on my tires, I think it looks good. I grew up when muscle cars were on the last legs of being cheap/affordable.

I'm one of those guys that sees a car and can't help but start visualizing what I would do to it. What would it look like if I put (pick your favorite) wheels and tires on it? What would it look like painted (choose a color)? Sometimes I'll think, na...it looks good the way it is. Quite often, I'll think it looks good, but could use a little something.

It's probably a good thing that I didn't own my car back in the early '80s. I likely would've painted it with Metal Flake green, changed the interior to white vinyl with "tuck and roll" on the dash, put a white vinyl top on it and installed an aftermarket sunroof. Maybe it would've got a hood scoop too. I likely would've cut speaker holes in the doors and added two extra holes for 6"x9"s in the package shelf. Yeah, four 6"x9"s in the back window.

I am still trying to build it the way I would've built it then, just without getting too carried away. I'll likely paint it the same color it is now, which is not the original color btw. I would like to add some metallic to the paint and do some very subtle pinstriping, which I would prefer to be under the clearcoat. I need a new vinyl top. The green vinyl is the correct color, but I kinda prefer black, so I'm going to have a decision to make. The BFG Radials and aftermarket chrome wheels are staying too. Other than that, just a few mild engine mods. So, really nothing that a future owner couldn't easily undo, except for the paint and they'll probably repaint the car anyway. That's it, nothing too crazy.

I often see old cars sitting in fields, etc and find myself hoping that someone will save them before they just rust back into nature or get snapped up by some derby guy. Sure, it would be nice if someone would buy them and restore them back to their original showroom condition, but that's not likely to happen. The next best thing would be if someone would buy them, get them running, fix the basics, slap some mags and tires on them, install some headers with dual exhaust and start cruisin'. Their next task after that could be to patch up the rust. At least that way, someone is enjoying the car and may decide to make it their long term project, if not maybe someone else will buy it and take it from there. Who knows, but at least the car got a second chance.

Yes, Zager and Evans as well. She was a Hottie, and very into the Association. Plus,I saw three dog night in Omaha in 1969. Now That was a Band! I know, I'm older than dirt.
Three dog nite!! Ther ya go!! As far as the customization, I can appreciate all of them. I like mild, mind tricking custom touches. Things that make people scratch there heads(not in a wtf? way). I also like em in the weeds! Flaked out roofs with some tuck roll is cool to! My vision for the fury is a stock appearing interior, exterior, bagged on 18" steelies!!
