Help me spend some $$

I believe the head gaskets I got in the felpro kit are .038-.042. Ill have to check. Once I get the heads bolted on, Ill mount the intake and see if its gonna work or not. Then Ill know for sure when i run it up for a cleaning.

Then again thoug I was looking it up online, and some shops seem to automaticaly shave the intake side. The intake side does look very good, maybe they already did it.. But Im not holding my breath.

Got a bit of luck this week.

I was half heartedly looking for a 9.25 rear to replace the 8.25 in the car, for the big block going in. One popped up on the blumo board a couple hours south of me. Emailed the guy a few times, and made a deal. Went and picked it up yesterday. Came out of a '75 Gran fury ISP cop car.

This basterd is heavy as hell! Makes the 8.75 I have seem light as a feather. It took a little roll on a corner... :icon_rolleyes:

My day was made today though! I want to put a 3.23/3.21 gear in once the engine gets put in. Figured Id have to get a new ring and pinion when going through it. But.....

Finally have the gears I've been wanting. Needs a suregrip/tracklock though. As this one is a one legger. Also need to get some backing plates, as the passenger side is pretty bent up.

While loading the rear end into the truck at the guys place, we were talking about other parts he had. He mention he also had the rear sway bar from the same car. I had to have it. The brackets, and links are pretty beat up.. But for $50 WTH Dont see these too often. Just need to come up with the parts for it.

X2 but you might want to put some steel toed shoes on while moving that thing around :)

Yea I probably should have! Wasn't expecting to mess with it at the time though. I woke up this morning, went out to the garage for a smoke, and started moving things around/cleaning, then next thing I knew the car was pulled out, and the rear was on jack stands.. One of those mornings lol.

LOL! Try picking up a Dana 60 axle!

No thank you! I had to call a few friends up once I got home. Took 3 of us to get it out. The few drinks before hand didnt help out to much though!

You guys are making me feel bad, watching you pull motors out, rebuild, and back in within a week. Matt that car is really coming along!!! What did you use to clean the block? Any certain chemical?

Nothing going on here. Dropped the intake, water pump housing, and t-stat housing off for cleaning. Still need a little more before paint..

Did some horse trading with a friend on the blumo board. Now have a suregrip unit on its way for the 9.25. Also might have some fury parts sold to a gentleman in canada, along with my spare fender to a local buddy. Should have a few bucks to play with once their gone.

The suregrip showed up a few days ago. Need to pull it apart, and go through it.

Started cleaning the block. Everythings looking pretty good.

The brown truck also dropped off a few parts. I love it when these show up!! X-mas all over again!

Need to get a rebuild kit for the TQ.. You guys have anywhere you would recommend to get a good one? Or am I good with just a local crapzone rebuild kit??

If anybody knows the best place, it's Scott! He is the TQ God.

Thank you Stan! They even offer to rebuild it as well.. Might have to see what they would charge to restore it. This will be one of the last pieces to the puzzle. Getting close though!

Need to get a new oil pump, and rocker arms, then the engine is ready to be put together. Rebuild the rear, get a cooling system together, exhuast then good to go.

I've got one more ?? regarding the cooling system. Will the clutch fan, and fan shroud from my 360 currently in the car bolt up and work with the big block, and stock big block radiator?? Not sure if they were interchangable between SB, and BB.. I was planning on running a champion aluminum rad, with their electric fan, and shroud kit.. But keeping my options open. Deff wanna keep it as cool as possible here in the hot FL climate.

I haven't a clue when it comes to SB's in Formals. Never seen one in person so I really have nothing to go by.

If you decide to have the TQ rebuilt, use Scott Smith (Harms Auto) instead. His TQ rebuilds are better than new. I had him rebuild mine. Worth every penny and cheaper than a new carb & manifold swap.

The LA clutch fan will bolt on to the RB...no problem. I'm not sure about the shroud.

I'm not sure about the shroud.

Yea, I'm not %100 sure either Mr C. But, it looks like they are different. Heres is a very old pic of my 360, and a pic of a friends 440 car. The shroud looks wider then mine. Also looks shorter, or doesnt mount as high..

They may have different P/N's but that doesn't mean crap on these cars many times.
They probably interchange perfectly. Chrysler was too broke at this point to mold up for yet another fan shroud let alone the money they had to steal just to print up new decals and enter it into "the system"...
