Help me spend some $$

That's all that matters. Glad yours worked out.
Damn, Bob, everything you have touched on your car has worked out better than anyone has a right to expect. You and your car are blessed.

I've been very lucky on a number of fronts. Many people on this site has helped me locate parts and given me technical advice. I couldn't do it all without the support of numerous people here on FCBO. The blue leather wrapped steering wheel was pure luck from locating it, splines matching up, to machining it. Everyone knows how brittle the plastic on those steering wheels are. Machining the rear hub on a lathe was tricky and the machinist was patient and took off a few thousandth's at a time so it wouldn't shatter.

Yes.
Rejetting it.
Rather than buy each size set of jets ($$$$$), I bought a set of the leanest jets (smallest orifice) and kept drilling up one step at a time till It was properly jetted. I have a complete set of LETTER drill bits and use a pin vise.

So... Stan, I can send you my thermoquad for a rebuild then? lol

Agree, Bob your car is coming along great!! Love watching the upgrades you perform on her. This is a great site with a bunch of good, and helpfull guys on it! Really appreciate your input guys!

Bob I've got one more question for ya.. Is that an eddie performer intake on your car? Did all the brackets and everything line up correctly on it for the A/C and such?

Yes, it's an eddie performer intake. Everything lined up with a few accessory parts. I even got the cruise control hooked up and working.

First, you must have an Edelbrock PN# 1481 adapter bracket. $10 from Summit or Jeg's.

I personally called the eddie tech's and found out what the real deal is with mounting carbs to manifolds and what adapter is required for proper installation and performance.

If you're using an eddie performer carb and manifold you'll need an eddie 1/16" carb mount adapter PN# 2732. It came in box with my intake.

If you mount an eddie carb to a stock Mopar cast iron manifold you need eddie adapter PN# 2696 to mount the eddie square bore carb to the Mopar spreadbore manifold. About $27 from Summit or Jeg's.

And to hook up the cruise control cable you'll need eddie PN#8009. It's a universal Chevy part but Eddie sent it to me for free. It's $10 from Summit or Jeg's.

I put a Eddie PN# 4224 air cleaner 14"x3" on her. It was $78 and fit with plenty of hood clearance.

HELL, NO!!!!!!

thanks Bob! If money would allow, I'd like to put one on.. I know they are pretty much an alluminum replacement to the stock intake.. But have heard they help a little. But will proboably go with the stock intake. I'd love to put a performer RPM on, but will not fit under the hood. I could possibly go with a drop base air cleaner, however I am HELL BENT on using my factory dual snorkel air cleaner. This is a requirement that needs to be met with this engine lol. I've been slowly restoring this thing the last few years I've owned it. Never been on the car yet though...

How do you guys feel about the MP .020 steel head gaskets? Want to help the compression as much as I can... The little I've read about them say that they need to be used on a true flat surface. Do you think with the somewhat recent rebuild, and 5,000 miles I would be good to use them? Also would they work with the .030 over engine?

Seems like a steal for $22.

I'm dead set against them. Plus, you'll never feel the the itsey-bitsy raise in hp that going from only 038 to O20 might possibly give you.

Don't forget to degree the cam and if I were you I would pop for a Cloyes dbl roller chain and gear set.

I never did learn how to degree a cam. Only know the whys. Always threw it in straight up and down. That's not good enough. I supposed that has to be my next homework assignnent...

99% of the time installing straight up will work for you but for the relatively short amount of time it takes to set up to degree it's good insurance.

I was wondering about degreeing it, figured I ask about it when the tome comes. The instruction that came with it have the steps to do it, but also note that it is not neccesary to do it. They explain that the cam is already 4 degrees advanced for performance....

They explain that the cam is already 4 degrees advanced for performance....
That's the reason I never bothered in the past.
Even the anal over on Moparts who actually race say you can't feel the difference in street use.
I'm just going to do it the next time around just to learn the correct method. Why at this point in my life. I don't know except to keep the brain cells stimulated to delay the kick in of Alzheimer's.

Also got some good, and bad news today. I have the receipt of the engine rebuild that Ross emailed to me. I called them today, and got to talk with the man who rebuilt the engine. He knew right away what engine when I mentioned the car. He got a laugh out of how the car went up north to OH, and I had to go up, grab the engine, and bring it back down to FL lol. (the car was from/worked on here in FL)

Anywhase he explained how the engine was rebuilt back to stock specs, and what not. Also that it is a very good engine... However the valvetrain is going to need to be gone threw. The man who owned it before Ross had the engine rebuilt, everything except the valvetrain mostly. He said the rocker shafts, rocker arms, and pushrods are going to need to be replaced. They were showing wear when he had the engine, but the guy was running out of $$ and said to do it another day. Well that was 8 years ago, so who knows. I'm gonna go back out to the garage, and start tearing them apart.

You guys have any preference on these parts? On the cheap side?? lol Going to keep everything stock, so no adjustable stuff.. (hopefully)

Pulled the right side rockers. Deff shows some wear as norb (engine builder) mentioned. Can feel the grooves gliding my fingers over them.

Since I'm gonna have to spend some money on these heads, do you guys think I should keep them? They are the "346" heads. Accourding to the receipts I have, they have been resurfaced, valve job, new guides, and new springs. I'll probably stick with em for the budget, but...... lol. What would you guys do?

Have the name?

Yes sir,

Here it is-
Norb's Automotive
403 wense Ave.
Seffner FL 33584

He also mentioned how the engine was also rebuilt before him. That the previous company completely F#cked everything up, and he had to redo a lot. That is when the engine was bored over..
